Dr. Ana Casado is the Assistant Dean for Graduate Recruitment and Strategic Initiatives in the College of Engineering. In this role, Ana oversees the College’s recruitment strategy and professional development for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. Additionally, Dr. Casado works with Engineering Career Services to provide professional and career development activities and programming for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars and works to expand internship opportunities for graduate students.
She has fifteen years of experience in college/university teaching, curriculum and course design, educational consulting, and graduate student support.
Ana is originally from Knoxville, TN and grew up in a household heavily influenced by Cuban and Spanish culture. She grew up speaking, reading, writing, and even cooking in Spanish (especialmente pollo al ajillo, tortilla española, and picadillo cubano). Ana’s father emigrated to the U.S. from Cuba following the 1959 Cuban Revolution.
