On Sunday night at the half time break in the second Twenty20 between the BLACKCAPS and Australia at AMI Stadium, two other international athletes will go head to head in a Zorb race, to entertain the crowd and raise money for a worthy cause.

Trans-Tasman rival ocean swimmers 19 year old Kane Radford from New Zealand and 22 year old David Browne from Australia will climb inside the humongous plastic spheres and race to the finish line to raise funds and awareness for St John and Surf Life Saving New Zealand. Prize money will be awarded to the winner’s charity of choice, while the other charity will be presented with a piece of New Zealand Cricket memorabilia.

Both athletes would have squared off in the Sovereign NZ Ocean Swim Series at Corsair Bay on Saturday and Radford and Browne will be looking at going one up on each other at the race on Sunday.

Browne is looking forward to the week of competition. “Definitely the swim makes me more nervous; I am hoping the ZORB race will be fun and that I don’t get injured,” he said.

And he suggested he might be doing it for more than just charity and entertainment. “My girlfriend wants a picture of Daniel Vettori though, so perhaps I‘ll have to make some sort of impression to get that photo,” he laugh

  • Daniel Vettori admits draw most likely outcome in Gabba Test after India deny Australia 23-year opportunity

Australia missed their first chance in 23 years to enforce a follow-on against India; and the team's assistant coach, Daniel Vettori, then admitted that with just a day left in the third Test in Brisbane, a draw is the most likely result in the offing.
In late drama at the Gabba on Tuesday, an unbeaten 39-run partnership between tailenders Akash Deep (27*) and Jasprit Bumrah(10*) defied the hosts and took India to the 246-run mark to avoid the follow-on. Australia had scored 445 in their first innings of the rain-hit Test match.

The last time Australia enforced a follow-on against India was in the iconic Kolkata Test in 2001, where VVS Laxman (281) and Rahul Dravid (180) batted through the day to script a turnaround that led to India's thrilling victory.
"I think the only way to force the game was to force the follow-on," Australia's assistant coach Vettori said while talking to the reporters after stumps on day four. "There was a desperation to get that final wick
